Questions people actually ask
Is the Vitality Health Check free?
Most Discovery plans include one Health Check per year at no cost. If your benefit is still available, tick the box when you book and your appointment is free. If you have already used it this year, the Health Check is R980.
What does the Health Check involve?
Blood pressure, a finger-prick cholesterol test, a finger-prick glucose test, body mass index and waist circumference — then a practitioner takes you through what the results mean. It takes about 20 minutes.
How long does it take?
Twenty minutes. Appointments are booked in 20-minute slots with one person per practitioner, so there is no waiting once you arrive.
How often can I do it?
Discovery allows one funded Health Check per benefit year. You are welcome to do more than one with us — additional checks are charged at R980.
Do I need to fast beforehand?
No. The finger-prick tests used in a Health Check are read as random measures, so you can eat normally. Bring your Discovery membership number and your ID.

Botthms Wellness Hub at Randpark Golf Club, Randburg — easy for Fairland, Northriding, Ferndale, Cresta and the surrounding suburbs, with parking at the door.
